A Night Without Cars Lyrics

Picture this; a falling star that dons a kite string.
The two of us are holding fast,
oh where will the fall leave us?

You were a prisoner
and so was I.
Run with the hunted
and open eyed
into the arms of
a threat that's real.
This is our burden,
we've got to find

another way out!
If there are no such things as walls,
you're not a prisoner at all.
Another way out!
Yeah, there is nothing holding you,
so run like a caribou!

Picture this; a night without cars,
just hooves and long legs.
The two of us are horned and proud,
the city is ours again.

You were a prisoner
and so was I.
Run with the hunted
and open eyed
into the arms of
a threat that's real.
This is our burden,
we've got to find

another way out!
If there are no such things as walls,
you're not a prisoner at all.
Another way out!
Yeah, there is nothing holding you,
so run like a caribou!

I think this means that we shouldn't let ourselves become trapped by the heavy things of life hold us down, using cities and cars as man-made constructs created by our own hands. Instead we should know how to escape and be the owner of our own domain instead of our domain owning us.

I agree, we are weighed down and trapped by so many material items. We are letting the things we made control our every day lives.
