I feel this songs about how America is portrayed as it is in the movies while pointing out that we forget about every one else and only think of our selves.
I'm torn on seeing this as a cool and subtle piece of social crit....or just, like, party in the USA II. Neither interpretation keeps me from blastin it when I drive down the interstate so IDK, forget all you haters I guess.
Dom has stated in interviews that the song is facetious to an extent and is kind of a socio economic statement. I feel that he is paritally being sarcastic, but slightly being serious. The band's lifestyle is kind of that "whatever, i don't care" much like the line about doing what you want.
