Robot Boy

i look at it this way. to me it seems like this song is about a guy who doesnt show and express his emotions very well (hence being called a robot). and hes scared to show his emotions and go out and live in the "real world". cuz hes maybe a loner or something.

"Hold on the weight of the world Will give you the strength to go"

is basically telling him everything is going to alright and just go out and be yourself and live life. and that he can be strong an accomplish his goals. thats what i think lol

When I listened to the whole album, I definitely interpreted a war theme and Robot Boy immediately made me think of a Solider. The other theme running through this album seems to be the bands transition to a new sound. It was then that I thought the song was bout how the fans want LP to be 'Robots' and produce the same music.

In both cases, it takes big shoulders to carry forward when there are very little supporters of what you are doing.

I love this song. It changed my mind about Linkin Park entirely. Here's a snippet of the analysis, I wrote...

"So Who’s The Robot Boy?" Well, there’s only the speaker and the audience here, and it sure isn’t the speaker. Duh. The “Robot Boy” refers to the audience. “Robot Boy” is a fitting title for this person, who keeps themself bottled up inside, never sharing compassion or love, never showing their feelings, never forming bonds with anyone. The audience is more like a robot than a person, hence the titling of this song. Is there hope for the Robot Boy and people like him in the world…? The speaker seems to have been through the same disconnection and emotional isolation as Robot Boy, and seems adamant that things will be alright if Robot Boy can hold on. The speaker is entrusting their knowledge and experience to the Robot Boy to give them the strength and resolve to keep going with the assurance that things will get better. So is there hope for robots out there? Most definitely.

I felt like this was about a boy who is about to be drafted into whatever war has started.

i agree with crizilla but to add on hes like this because it says you've hert in a way no one will ever no and then goes on to say the weight of the world will give you the strength to go meaning that either peer pressure has built up on him or in a positive response that everything that has been holding you back is now the thing pushing you forward

"Hold on the weight of the world will give you the strength to go." This line helps me get through my life. It's the proof, that one can overcome one's troubles as long as you hold on,

I think that it is about a soldier, and how the military forces them to live a certain way and do certain things so they all end up acting the same hence being refered to as robot's, anyways it is a great song.

Firstly put ya self into Chester’s dark place to try see how he sees the song. And with the next song on the album being “waiting for the end to come”

So I interpret it to be like this..

Robot boy

• to see your self as a robot is no humanity, emotion, empty feeling usually due to other people or life draining it out of you and not feeling loved or being overwealmed with mental health related darkness and fatigue

So when it comes to the lyrics and the song meaning. I interpret it as. Feeling this way for so long from the weight of the world but holding on in hopes it will get better due to not having the strength to let go and sadly take your own life.

I feel like the lyrics say the weight of the world has kept you from letting go, but don’t worry you will eventually find the courage to proceed some day and the pain will end.
