Matilda Lyrics
It started slowly
First a finger, then a thumb
Matilda started disappearing
In front of everyone
No one noticed how translucent she becomes
As one by one
It started softly
First a fumble, then a kiss
In all his dreams he'd never seen
Perfection like this
No one noticed her hand tug at his
As one by one
The walkers left the park, and
One by one
The electric lights went dark, and
One by one
He buried her
Down in this hole
I've got nothing to fear
Somebody knows
That I'm hiding down here
If I wiggle my toes
They're gonna come find me
If I wiggle my toes
I'm gonna get free
It started slowly
Like a joining-up of dots
A doily on a doorstep and an
Empty cardboard box
That cry out your name as the final penny drops
As one by one
We called her name out loud, and
One by one
We strained to hear the sound, and
One by one
Our torch beams shone
Down in this hole
I've got nothing to fear
Somebody knows
That I'm hiding down here
If I wiggle my toes
They're gonna come find me
Somebody knows
That I'm under these stones
Gonna come find me
First a finger, then a thumb
Matilda started disappearing
In front of everyone
No one noticed how translucent she becomes
As one by one
First a fumble, then a kiss
In all his dreams he'd never seen
Perfection like this
No one noticed her hand tug at his

Ooh, I love the Regina Spektor feel to this song. It's like a little poem. I'd say it's about abuse or an eating disorder. In either case everyone is blind to it until it's too late.
I dont think its about a eating disorder i think it about being kidnapped and raped (First a finger, then a thumb Matilda started disappearing In front of everyone No one noticed how translucent she becomes) i think this part is about her getting kidnapped because when you grab some one you touch them first with you finger and you thumb follows.and how she disappears because no one really sees people getting kidnapped. (First a fumble, then a kiss In all his dreams he'd never seen Perfection like this No one noticed her hand tug at his ) can be talking about him raping her and how she...

I think that its about a girl ( Matilda) who is kidnapped from a park, raped, and in the end murdered:( First a finger and a thumb: could represent either a gun or being grabbed by someone Matilda started disappearing, no one noticed how translucent she'd become: meaning no one saw her being kidnapped first a fumble the a kiss, all his dreams he never had perfection like this: meaning that she was raped no one noticed her hand tug at his: meaning that she tried to get away or get someones help but she couldn't as one by one the walkers left the park, electric lights went dark: meaning her chances of getting help/surviving are getting lower as each person leaves and as the lights go out he buried her down in this hole: he thought he killed her so he buried her if i wiggle my toes there gonna come find me: meaning that she was buried alive like a joining up of dots: people are starting to realize that something is wrong we called her name out loud, strained to hear a sound: looking for her torch beams showed me down in this hole: they found her dead body
