Welcome to the Family Lyrics
Hey, kid - do I have your attention?
I know the way you've been livin'
Life so reckless, tragedy endless
Welcome to the family
Hey - there's something missing
Only time will alter your vision
Never question, lethal injection
Welcome to the family
Not long ago, you'd find the answers were so crystal clear
Within a day, you found yourself living in constant fear
Can you look at yourself now?
Can you look at yourself?
You can't win this fight
And in a way it seems there's no one to call
When our thoughts are so numb
And our feelings unsure
We all have emptiness inside
We all have answers to find,
But you can't win this fight
Hey - I have a question
What's with the violent aggression?
Details blurry, lost him too early
Welcome to the family
Hey - why won't you listen?
Can't help the people you're missing
Won't be undone, casualty rerun (but Syn says "It's been done, a casualty rerun")
Welcome to the family
I'll try and help you with the things that can't be justified
I need to warn you that there is no way to rationalize
So have you figured it out now?
So have you figured it out?
You can't win this fight.
And in a way it seems there's no one to call
When our thoughts are so numb
And our feelings unsure
We all have emptiness inside
We all have answers to find,
But you can't win this fight
Gunning for you, and all mankind
I've lost my mind
Psychotic, rabid dementia
I won't be fine
I see you're a king whose been dethroned
Cast out in a world you've never known
Stand down, place your weapons by your side
It's our war, in the end we'll surely lose, but that's alright
So have you figured it out now?
So have you figured it out?
And in a way it seems there's no one to call
When our thoughts are so numb
And our feelings unsure
We all have emptiness inside

But you can't win this fight

Where nothing's fine
I lost my mind
You're not invited

what I get from this song is they are talking to the young teens who are on their way to becoming adults. Around the stage when you realize life sucks and they are saying that your apart of a family of people who have realized that life isn't as grand as when you were younger and had less responsibilities, and you can't fight life. Its gonna happen and responsibility is going to come whether you want it or not. so dont fight it cause you can't win.
I think it's "rampant dementia," not "I'm in dementia"
I think its more like "I see you're a king who's been dethroned" not "escaping down a deep road" or "estate has been dethroned." It seems to fit better with the next few lines and the whole song in general. I take it as a person who felt like they were sitting on top of the world and then something happened to bring them "down" to reality, or "to the family". Imo its after the death of the rev. All the members probably felt immortal and on top of the world and then when jimmy passed, they were crushed and felt as everyone else does when they lose someone close. Its a feeling that I am sure they haven't felt before. You get that feeling of hopelessness and not everyone loses their best friend at such a young age.
It's "I see you're a king who's been dethroned". i have the album, and i read the lyrics off of the booklet they always put in the front of all cd's. what is that thing called anyway?...

...I believe that this song is about struggling with Drug Addiction.
-"Welcome to the Family" is possibly about being in a band with a member that has overdosed and died, or at least having a friend/family member O.D. "Details blurry; Lost him too early...Welcome to the Family"
The song is about the realization that drugs are path to nowhere and death..."Have you figured it out now; You can't win this fight".
Here are the lyrics straight from the book:

yesss exactly!! :)

I personally think it's about a teenager who slipped into the slums and the more 'heavy criminals' embrace him ('welcome to the family'). In the first lines he starts to slip morally- living a reckless lifestyle- later leading him into drugs and violence. The 'family' that embraces him- were all like him- kings who have been dethroned (people who had a choice before degrading)- the one whos talking to him identifies with his story- the choros is an invitation- we share the same thoughts, we have no one to call to when in distress- but with that invitation he also suggests- we live in the real world, the others are the fake, but we can't win this fight we will always be outnumbered, people will always hunt us down. the final lines are for those who still have a choice- the 'noninvited' to the family, he gives us a taste of their world and why you don't belong, or rather should'nt want to belong in that family. (my first post here..! :) )
I think this song is directed at everybody who feels that they have a crappy life. It's almost saying "Your life sucks? Well, ours does too. Welcome to the family."
holy sh*t thats like perfect and by the way love the name so freakin much

ok so it is pretty stupid yall were saying that they got the lyrics wrong cause if u knew the lyrics u shouldnt be on these websites that show the lyrics secondly it has nothing to do with the new drummer
it took me a while to figure it out what this song was about it was about murder different ways to die im kinda slow when im not thinking they talk about lethal injection thats a way to die commiting suicide and the suicide part is the violent agression detail blurry lost them early kind of stuff casualty rerun lots of death in this song literally a very dark song
i think this song is about people who when doing something in there early life screws them over in adulthood from the line not long ago your find the answers were so crystal clear within a day you find yourself living in constant fear. you think its a good idea and then it turns into a "day of constant fear". and then the line there's no one to call when our lives are so numb and feelings unsure would mean in adulthood there is no one to help you out when your life is going bad. and then the you cant win this fight is saying one way or another this world will kill you. They are just saying that eventually you will die and there is nothing you can do and you have to accept it. But they also say that in a war we will surely lose but that's alright that saying even though you will die you have to keep on going and not try to find a shortcut into your afterlife. Basically its a song about life and its problems but you have to deal with them.
