Rhythm of Love Lyrics

My head is stuck in the clouds
She begs me to come down
Says, "Boy, quit foolin' around"
I told her, "I love the view from up here
Warm sun and wind in my ear
We'll watch the world from above
As it turns to the rhythm of love"

We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun, you're mine
All mine
Play the music low
And sway to the rhythm of love

My heart beats like a drum
A guitar stringed to the strum
A beautiful song to be sung
She's got blue eyes deep like the sea
That roll back when she's laughing at me
She rises up like the tide
The moment her lips meet mine

We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun, you're mine
All mine
Play the music low
And sway to the rhythm of love

When the moon is low
We can dance in slow motion
And all your tears will subside
All your tears will dry

And long after I've gone
You'll still be humming along
And I will keep you in my mind
The way you make love so fine

We may only have tonight
But till the morning sun, you're mine
All mine
Play the music low
And sway to the rhythm of love
Play the music low
And sway to the rhythm of love
Yeah, sway to the rhythm of love

I love this song because its not about an affair. Its about two newly weds on their honeymoon. And they may only have that night because he is going off to war the next day. Sad but true story. I would never think of it as something terrible as an affair, only a married couple in love.

Just saw interview with them on E! where he said he wrote this about an ex-girlfriend who he dumped. He said later he realized she is who he wanted to be with. He wrote it to try and get her back but it didnt work and she is now with another guy.

I just found out this song last week. What really attracted me was the melody and it was catchy and really easy to listen to. I looked into the lyrics and now like the song much more. It seems like it can be interpreted in so many different ways and can have a lot to do with your personal situation and how you can relate to it. I interpreted it as a love story where he is simply elated to be with her and they're spending one more night together before he leaves to go somewhere in the morning (I assumed it was a trip).

"We may only have tonight, but till the morning sun you're mine"--tells me that they're only together in His dreams, another one that suggests so is "When the moon is low, we can dance in slow motion"

They're only together as one in his fantasy land, and not in reality "Boy, quit foolin' around" and he's stuck there because he's with her there "My head is stuck in the clouds."

And the rhythm of love is a music where one can resort to when reality is sorrowful/tearful.

"My head is stuck in the clouds She begs me to come down Says, "Boy, quit foolin' around", Sounds like a relationship with some understood disagreements. "We may only have tonight, But till the morning sun, you're mine", Sounds like they are having fun before they break up, trying to live up a memory they will never forget. "And long after I've gone, You'll still be humming along, And I will keep you in my mind", Suggests that it was her idea to break up and he didn't want to but made the most out of it. Though he will always be thinking about her, while she just continues her life.

Sad to me in the happiest most understood way.

This song is just beautiful. A mark of great songwriting is when a song can be interpreted in different ways and applied to different situations depending on who's reading it, like this song can. I also like how he sounds very Jason Mraz-ish in this song. Not many people can pull it off like Jason does, but he does it flawlessly. Great song!

Oh my gosh! That's exactly what I thought. What genre would this be classified as?

I absolutely love this song. It is so sweet and romantic. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of a young couple that love each other so much and just want to spend as much time as possible with each other. I also think about girls that I love and it makes me want to start a relationship with some of them.

However, maybe I'm the only person in the world to catch on to this, but I always seem to notice one aspect that I refuse to believe. They only have one night together. They are planning on doing something together all night. His heart beats like a drum and they dance in slow motion. After looking back on that night, he says that he will always remember that she makes love so fine. I'll let you fill in the blanks on that one. But like I said, I refuse to believe that interpretation because this is such a great song
