Hangover Lyrics
Hit me out of nowhere
Like a car crash on the street
Suddenly colliding into me
Now I'm broken, bruised, and beat up
Tangled in my sheets
How can this feel so bad
When you seem so good for me?
Oh my god
What's wrong with my head?
I'm sweating with the chills
Still in my bed
Tell me how I'll ever make it through
It's the short hellos and the long goodbyes
The shake in my lip from the look in your eyes
Makes me wanna die
I've got the worst hangover from you
Swimming in the deep end
Trying to keep from turning blue
Danger, danger
Hoping not to drown
Sinking in the quicksand
Just to walk right up to you
You're so easy to pick up
And so hard to put down
Oh my god
What's wrong with my head?
I'm sweating with the chills
Still in my bed
Tell me how I'll ever make it through
(Tell me how I'll ever make it through)
It's the short hellos and the long goodbyes
The shake in my lip from the look in your eyes
Makes me wanna die
I've got the worst hangover from you
All that I really wanted
Was a habit I could drop
Any time that I wanted to
And what I really got was you
No medicine is gonna cut it
Oh my god
What's wrong with my head?
I'm sweating with the chills
Still in my bed
Tell me how I'll ever make it through
(Tell me how I'll ever make it through)
It's the short hellos and the long goodbyes
The shake in my lip from the look in your eyes
Makes me wanna die
I've got the worst hangover
Oh my god

Anywho. I love this song so much... been in the situation before. Love is blind is what this song is saying, in my opinion. Someone seems so good for you, when everyone else can see how bad the relationship is.
I think it's "No medicine is gonna cut it."
I love this song, but I wonder about the line "All I really wanted from you was a habit I could drop anytime I wanted to." It doesn't really fit in with the rest of the song...
I also wonder if "car crash on the street" is an intentional allusion to "Arizona."
That's what I thought at first, too. Good to know I wasn't the only one who heard that. haha. I'm pretty sure that is it, so I'll change it back.

I think that line (All I really wanted from you was a habit I could drop anytime I wanted to) is saying that she wasn't looking for anything serious, but that's how the relationship ended up.

I dunno, it's just a guess.

For a long time I've been trying to figure out how to describe the feeling that some guys (unfortunately) give you after you've even just talked to them, and this song describes it perfectly. You're never expecting it, and then it's like having a hangover, or as if you're going to just fall down on the floor. Love how Cass can express herself so easily through song.
