A Little Opera Goes A Long Way Lyrics
I'll save you
An echo from the hall
And I'll paint you
A dreamscape on your bedroom wall
Pretend you're not alone
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
I'll meet you
Where the page proclaims the end
And I'll make do
With the fractions my reactions bend
Pretend you're not alone
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
I'll capsize this highrise
And weld a cable-car
Then I'll drive down to some southwestern town
And end up where you are
Pretend you're not alone
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
I'll reset your silhouette
And be your parasol
So hold on to your fluorescent view
And if you slip and fall
I will catch you
An echo from the hall
And I'll paint you
A dreamscape on your bedroom wall
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
Where the page proclaims the end
And I'll make do
With the fractions my reactions bend
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
And weld a cable-car
Then I'll drive down to some southwestern town
And end up where you are
Like you are center stage on Broadway
'Cause when you're on your own
A little opera goes a long way
And be your parasol
So hold on to your fluorescent view
And if you slip and fall
I will catch you

This is just a guess, but someone on YouTube commented on this song saying "A little opera goes a long way" is a quote from Batman Begins (you can look it up and see the clip online). It comes when young Bruce Wayne leaves the opera with his parents because he's scared of the bats (which leads to his parents being murdered). When Bruce's mom asks whats wrong, his dad says this to cover for Bruce's fear.
SO...I think it's Adam Young's subtle way of saying "It's ok. I got you" to the recipient of this song. There are several phrases that show his desire to save/rescue this special someone, probably from loneliness and fear.
I think the overall meaning of this song is "I'll do whatever it takes to cheer you up". It's a version of a love song focused on helping/comforting the other person.
Whatever it means, it's a beautiful song musically.
Think its more like "an echo from my heart" :-|
This probably has nothing to do with the song but in a psychology textbook I have it said that listening to opera before bed is supposed to help you sleep and Adam has insomnia so maybe there is a connection, but not likely.
I Guess He Means that Even Alone You Can Become Something Big Like In Broadway. This Is How he Became famous. he Might Have used This Song to tell Himself It's ok You'll Become famous some day and it happened :)
i like agree with your comment, but perhaps he's dedicating this to someone else, maybe a former girlfriend of his that was ballet dancer or an actress

Adam is not super famous, but almost all of the people that listen to him love him. I just wish more people would love him as much as I do.
