You Stopped Making Sense Lyrics
You stopped making sense
You stopped making sense
You forgot about your friends
I want to come closer
I want to come closer
I want to come closer
That's all I want
Since you let God in
You believe in sin
But of course there's no such thing
Just like there's no Santa
Or equality before the law
Or people without flaws
You forgot all about us
And for what cause?
You believe the lie
Saying you won't die
I know you were scared but so am I
That's why I can't lose you
Whatever they told you
I'm dying to hold you
Don't let them blindfold you
Don't say goodbye
You stopped making sense
You forgot about your friends
I want to come closer
I want to come closer
I want to come closer
That's all I want
You believe in sin
But of course there's no such thing
Just like there's no Santa
Or equality before the law
Or people without flaws
You forgot all about us
And for what cause?
Saying you won't die
I know you were scared but so am I
That's why I can't lose you
Whatever they told you
I'm dying to hold you
Don't let them blindfold you
Don't say goodbye

i know exactly what you mean.
this is just too much
The Radio Dept was my favorite band, and after this song, they're TOTALLY my favorite band! There's nothing really obscure about this song....whenever someone you love slips into madness, you gotta fight to drag them back out!
A few corrections

this song is so special, the way its virtually unknown and poorly produced just add to its purity. hidden behind all the reverb on the vocals are some really good lyrics and a beautiful voice. the words don't really need explaining, but I really want this person to look up and see sense. I can relate to that
The subtle bass line between verses is wicked!
The ideal of giving into this message scares me. When I heard this song i felt haunted, haunted because this conflict has always been a part of my life.
Pretty obvious meaning, but good God (no pun intended) what a fucking amazing song!
Someone who abandons the people they know for the sake of their own religion.
Though I don't really like the sassiness of being so sure god does not exist, cause it's different than Santa. Santa is known to be a lie, whereas god isn't. You can't prove or disprove unfortunately anything about god so.. making statements like this is just sassy. Those lines though: "We always seek the force above For people without flaws You forgot all about us And for what cause?"
Are amazing! We always look for someone to admire and to worship, because we want to believe that there are people without flaws - giving hope for us to be holy, and thus we work so hard about it.
