My opinion is the song is about a guy who's in love, but suffers from depression and social anxiety.
I agree with this! The person singing 'aches to be near [their loved one]', yet he can't smile at them because his 'lips hurt when [he does]', even though he tries.

In two parts he mentions that he hates everyone, thus pointing out his distrust of people, but he still loves someone, which was 'unforeseeable', unexpected, since he is a bit of a loner, so to speak.

by personal experience , i think that this song is about someone who is has someone who he likes and is very close to her but can not tell her about that and starts falling into a state of emptyness, crazyness and depression,about the "egg" maybe it is his way to tell about protecting himself like in the video qhere the squirrel hides inside it. In an unpolite way to say it, the guy is friendzoned but can´t tell her anything and starts giving her the cold shoulder because he is afraid of what could happen,he doesn´t have anough "eggs"(in spanish egg is "huevo" that can be used as a way to talk about testicles and balls)
It's a great song and sounds very indie rock, but the lyrics are a little difficult to interpret. My best guess is that the song is about a man going insane thinking about a someone or something. The Vocals are pretty good and I can only assume the lyrics have a deep meaning. Lol then again he could be tripping on lsd and wrote a song about it.... Either way its a cool song :p
