I Don't Wanna Dance Lyrics

Take me home

You, you hit with me a break
And now you're back for more
Your song's the same
Leave me with all the blame
I don't have time for another game

I don't wanna dance
So don't you ask me, babe
I don't wanna dance
You blew your chance
To rock my night away
I want some fun
Boy, you're so not the one
I don't wanna dance
So let it go
You'll never take me home
Take me home
Take me home

Talk to me without a sound
'Cause you were such a tool
Who's sorry now?
You, you're shaking on the floor
Watch me walking out the door

I don't wanna dance
So don't you ask me, babe
I don't wanna dance
You blew your chance
To rock my night away
I want some fun
Boy, you're so not the one
I don't wanna dance
So let it go
You'll never take me home
Take me home
Take me home

Don't tell the DJ to hit rewind tonight
There's no you and me
Don't play that record
Don't waste your time

You, you threw it all away

I don't wanna dance
So don't you ask me, babe
I don't wanna dance
You blew your chance
To rock my night away
I want some fun
Boy, you're so not the one
I don't wanna dance
So let it go
You'll never take me home
Take me home
Take me home

I won't dance
I won't dance
Bust a move or clap my hands (x3)

Take me home
(Take me home)

Cover art for I Don't Wanna Dance lyrics by Hey Monday

Instead of "But YOU'RE so not the one", she's saying "But HE'S so not the one."

Lyric Correction

No, she's definitely saying "you're," not "he's." Plus, it wouldn't fit in with all the "you"s that are in the song. Suddenly adding in a "he" wouldn't fit in.

My friend just told me she hears, "Boy, you're so not the one." I think she's right.

You mean 'HE'S saying. ;) Me too. Love this song! that B___ is on fire!

Finally, someone has posted the backing lyrics at the last chorus! I've been going crazy trying to figure out the exact wording. But, anyways.

This song is so insanely catchy and ironically, makes me want to dance the whole time. I've heard so many people say that they don't like how Hey Monday's music is more pop and whatnot now, but this song is pretty close to their old stuff and sounds so good. I could listen to it over and over.

As far as lyric interpretation goes, it's pretty easy to figure out - some guy turned out to be a complete tool to Cassadee and is trying to say that he's changed, but he's the very same as before and she wants someone different and better. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

hmm, I honestly think that they have been pop always, and the fact that they synthesized some sounds doesn't help to change that either.
