White As Snow Lyrics
I've marched to the pounding drums.
Then you came.
I've walked with the kings and
I've marched to the pounding drums.
Then you came.
You asked me to change
But like a fool
I refused and walked away
You were white as snow
Still You plead, still You plead guilty
And tied the noose around my neck
They tied me up and left me for dead
Please come, cut me loose
You were white as snow
Still You plead, still You plead guilty
You were white as snow
Still You plead, still You plead guilty
You were white as snow
You were white as snow
You were white as snow

probably my new favorite htd song. so fucking gooood. i didn't think their follow-up to dreamer would be as powerful, but fuck am i glad i was wrong.

I've walked with the kings and I've marched to the pounding drums. Then you came. I've walked with the kings and I've marched to the pounding drums. Then you came. You asked me to change But like a fool I refused and walked away
It's not like You would know, would You? You were white as snow Still You plead, still You plead guilty
They took my crown as I hung my head And tied the noose around my neck They tied me up and left me for dead Please come, cut me loose
It's not like You would know, would You? You were white as snow Still You plead, still You plead guilty
It's not like You would know, would You? You were white as snow Still You plead, still You plead guilty
It's not like You would know, would You? You were white as snow You were white as snow You were white as snow
I'm going to dissect the song with the lyrics pulled up. Doing this destroys the majesty of your own interpretation.

White As Snow- Haste the Day
White As Snow- Haste the Day
((I've walked with the kings and I've marched to the pounding drums Then you came))
((I've walked with the kings and I've marched to the pounding drums Then you came))
This is admitting guilt and shame of being caught in the act of sin and the Holy Spirit showing up in your heart in the midst of fooling around with Earthly things.

((You asked me to change but like a fool I refused And walked away Oh, oh)) This is obvious. Denying the Holy Spirit working on your heart.

This is my favorite part. He's trying so hard. Struggling to grasp Jesus actually being able to relate to us. It's such a ridiculous question because Jesus was perfect and still plead guilty to the sins of the world. We all owe every single sin of ours, charged to our Heavenly account, but Jesus took it on his. Just like a credit card. Debt. Racking up a bill we can't ever pay. And Jesus never spent a dime, but still takes on all of our credit card debt. And pays it back. --GOD..It's not like you would know what it's like to turn away from something you care about!! I've personally, stupidly thought this so many times. God you don't understand how hard it is to sacrifice my life for you. O WAIT. YOU MADE THE BIGGEST SACRIFICE OF ALL
((They took my crown as I hung my head and tied the noose Around my neck They tied me up and left me for dead please, cut me loose))
This was the affects of turning from God. His sin, his shame, his lifestyle, they took his dignity and self-respect. So he lowers his head in shame awaiting the consequences of denying Christ's way of life. Also, he's going to be killed by this sin if someone doesn't save him.
((It's not like you would know, would you? You were white as snow But still you plead, still you plead guilty))
The mere thought of this amazing love is what kills me in this song. The heavy riffs, and singing, everything pierces my heart with the beauty of God's love. We can't grasp it. That struggle is evident in this song.
The instrumental portion at the end is for reflection. It's my alter call to give up whatever I'm holding onto.
((It's not like you would know, would you? You were white as snow You were white as snow You were white as snow ))

This song is very Deftonesish.
Here's what I think...
Jesus walked on this earth as a man and was subjected to the same temptations we are, yet he didn't sin.
I think it's about a person who can't understand how Jesus, being perfect and sinless(white as snow), could die for our sins.

its not blanketed.... its still you plead guilty. it makes more sense. you were white as snow but you still plead guilty. but it works either way but the correct lyric is plead guilty

This is what I got from it...
I've walked with the kings and I've marched to the pounding drums. Then you came. -Old Testament reference, then Jesus came.
You asked me to change But like a fool I refused and walked away -Jesus told me to repent but I couldn't turn away from my sin to follow him (rich man in Matthew 19:16-22)
It's not like You would know, would You? You were white as snow Still You plead, still You plead guilty -Jesus couldn't understand what the bondage of sin felt like because he was perfect but still died a sinners death.
They took my crown as I hung my head And tied the noose around my neck They tied me up and left me for dead Please come, cut me loose -I have finally come to the realization that my sin is going to be the death of me, Jesus come rescue me.
