I see a faded sign at the end of the road, it says 15 miles to the Love Shack... The B52's are shouting "bang bang on the door, bang bang". Ariel Pink echoes these lyrics with their "knock knock on the door three times". It's like this song is about the Love Shack party, but at the point where the party has reached the 5a.m. stage. Everybody really is too tired to go on, but nobody wants to leave yet. The song conveys the nice melancholy of good times that have just come to an end.
Wow, I kept hearing "On fright night, you tuck me in" as "Bright lights, in the distance". That's pretty far off... and I was sure of it, too.
Ha ha its crazy how ur brain plays with you on songs like these its really whatevers going on in your mind what a great great song this album just keeps getting better and better the more months go by for me
i just listened to it in high vol and i still have no idead what comes after fright night in the chorus
