LOVE this version. Was blown away by it. It came on, I realized what it was, and then I was hooked. Captivated. I couldn't stop listening. Over and over again.
This song may be about drugs (as some will tell you, and apparently confirmed by Robert Palmer), but I think 'love addiction' is quite viable, too.

i am finding it hard to believe that no one has had anything to say about this song!! i think its about being in love, to the EXTREME! this is definitely one of the easiest songs to understand. the meaning of the song is exactly what the title says. Addicted to Love. This song is about being addicted to someone's love and the feeling they give you.
Event though I love the Original version of this song, Florence gives it a great twist by slowing the tempo a little bit and giving the lyrics plently of justice. Great song.
