Peacoat Lyrics

You love me more ?
Cause you can't imagine me as someone old
But in the moment of sinless embrace
Your eyes stare right through me to the back of my face

I sleep all day
You're the cause of pain
We're always good on the road
Now you were my favorite show
As long as buses were rolling along
The destination's unknown

Talks of our connection was the way it began
Necessary dope but it was straight obsession
Couldn't sleep it out, but now who needs sleep?
Now it was 6 months later, it was,
Well, you know

I sleep all day
You're the price I paid
We're always good on the road
Now you were my favorite show
As long as buses were rolling along
The destination's unknown

I really don't care about all that mainstream crap everyone is talking about. Bands weren't concerned about their music defining their generation, or any other musician of any genre of music. If you don't like the song find something else to listen to. They perform because they love music and want other people to enjoy it as well. Let the corporations and the radio charts take care of themselves.

why is this song called peacoat?

Robert says that they always give silly names to songs that they are working on. Peacoat was a working title and originated from a old picture that he had of his son i think walking in central park when he was 4 in a peacoat.

its about a pic of deans son... not roberts

9."Peacoat" was composed by Dean, inspired by a photograph of his four-year old son standing in Central Park during winter, wearing a peacoat. Weiland and Dean got into a disagreement about whether or not the song should have been included on the album. "I couldn’t believe [Weiland] was having second thoughts about it — his singing was so strong!... [He] knocked it out of the park vocally." Weiland's lyrics, of course, changed the ultimate meaning of the song, but the title remained. Dean explained, "These titles crack me up. A lot of them were the working titles and they just stuck. Peacoat is one of them. As a title, it has nothing to do with the song at all."[29]

kinda crazy scott wieland was having second thoughts about putting this song on the record... its one of the best on the new album and thats saying something... this album is insane because it just gets better and better with each listen

simple drum beat and guitar riff... musically this is one of the weaker ones of the new album but it just makes scotts vocals stand out more which are great by the way... altogether this is a great song
