according to mary weilands book ( weilands ex wife ) scott weiland had been sober from hard drugs for about maybe a little over a year through the 2006-2007 period .. to her knowledge at least.. anyways in the book says mary was waiting for scott to come home and he came home really late and woke her up to tell her that on his way back home from the studio he had witnessed a cocaine sell and ended up doing himself ... and he confessed it it to her that same night and asked her for help... that and another thing led to them filing for divorce about a month later

anyways i believe that incident of scott scoring that coke that night had some inspiration for this song... seeing as this album has alot of songs about mary and this incident is one of the straws that broke the camels back

warning.... anyone who listens to this song will have it stuck in their head all day

bagman is a drug dealer obviously... pretty dark song i guess you could say .. but with upbeat music

was written by Dean. Similar to several other songs on the album, the song was composed with certain intentions, and Weiland lyrically drove the song into a darker place. Dean explained, "It’s about Scott’s dealings with certain people and, well, it can get pretty dark and bleak out there sometimes." Dean described performing the guitar as "painting with these bright colors," but considered the lyric/music dichotomy to be the "yin-yang thing in the band".

sounds like scotts warning people to stay away from the bagman ( drug dealers )

i swear the chorus sounds like 2 different thinks

when he says bagman honey itll drive us insane - it also sounds like he could be saying aint no driver salesman

and when he says oh do what you want it sounds like hes saying argue what you

just saying... but the lyrics are right btw
