This is my fav song on the album. I think it is obvious what it mean.
I think the big message is that there are so many people hanging on to their previous relationships instead of just letting go and moving on with their lives. It's pretty obvious, I guess. Sorry if I'm not expressing this in a good manner, I don't usually know how to express what is on my mind in a meaningful way, haha :)
