i really don't think it's quite as important to make a big fuss as to WHO miley wrote this about..the meaning in the song itself is pretty self-explanatory.

i'm glad miley is finally, in some of her songs at least, being more honest and relatable to REAL people. most of her singles (party in the usa, can't be tamed, etc) may be catchy, but they're very self-absorbed ("every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention..i always get a ten cause i'm built like that"?) and, all too often, obnoxious. i'm glad she's finally writing more mature & truthful songs about love and heartbreak. it makes her a TEENSY bit more respectable. now she just needs to change her wardrobe and overall outward image and she's on the right way to go! haha

The song is pretty self explanatory but it's also beautiful. This is actually my favorite song off the new album.

But I think the song is for Liam. She was on tour for so long away from him after being with him almost every second on "The Last Song" that all she wants to do is to go home and stay with him.

"And if today I don't see your face Nothing's changed, no one can take your place." I think what she means here is that no matter what's going on, and no matter what people are saying about her dating others she wants no one but him.

I think this song is an experience of heartbreak. Taking Nick Jonas or Liam out of it. I think this is about a girl who has been left by the boy she is in love with. She's had her heart ripped from her chest. She isn't angry with the boy, all she wants is for him to be happy, but deep inside she wrenches for him to want her back. She just wants him to say he "loves her more than he did before and he's sorry that its this way. hes coming home and if she asks him he will stay." It's really a heartbreaking desperation; She's trying to live without him, but she doesn't feel anything without him. "Well I try to live without you, the tears fall from my eyes. Im alone and I feel empty, God Im torn apart inside." She doesn't know where he is, but just hopes that he's thinking about her and she aches to feel any connection with him like she'd had before.

I'm not really a fan of Miley, but I really do like this song. It's one of the songs that people can actually really relate to.

yeah i get what you mean about the whole connection with the fact Nick also sang a song called saty..but why would she dredge up the past now she has Liam and is totally in love with him.

i dont this had anything to do with nick cause the song that nick wrote is about selena gomez. i thinkkkk. hah.

Pretty sure it's about Liam - she's stated most of the songs are about him on this album and if you listen closely, maybe he's getting fed up with everything she's doing so he wants to leave, but she doesn't want him to, so she's willing to give up her career for him.

I always get choked up on this song. It's so beautiful! Miley and Liam forever! <3

I think this song means so much more to me then the lyrics portray. I think it's really relatable to anyone who has ended a relationship with someone that they love. I think that it's about a relationship that ended, and she loves that person much "more than before" and "misses" them. I think it means that if that person were to ever seek her out, she would run right back to them. It's pretty self explanatory, but still one of her most beautiful songs.

What I hear in this song is her basically saying she would give up her career to be with person, if he'd only ask. She even says if she had to, she would "choose" him. The choice is between the life she lives, always being busy, always having to travel, ect, and her relationship with this person, because the distance is affecting them.
