This song is so fantastic. It's not just about a girl going away and he stays, it could be either way around. And it doesn't have to be LA. LA in this song stands for just something bigger. For instance, I am going to be training/working with racehorses as a career and my family doesn't want me to do it b/c there's not a ton of money in it, but "I'm exactly where I want to be. Don't you take that from me."

this song's amazing! the meaning of this song is pretty simple

his lover or whatever wants to go to hollywood for stardom, despite his disapproval. But he says "If you want la, then go to la" saying to just go if you want, but to always remember the promises you made. he'll always love her the same, waiting for her to come back home.

Basically, she wants to go to L.A. and get famous, and he says that he wants to stay. and i think maybe she accuses him of doubting her cause it says "im not saying that i dont belive"

but this can be held in so many ways. im a christian, and this reminds me of an old bf that didn't want me to stay with my faith.

By looking at the beginning of the song, it tells me that the song has been written from the perspective of a girl. The girl in this song is telling her love to pursue his dreams and go to L.A even though it means leaving her for now, but she is telling him how much he means to her and pleading with him not to forget about her while she is back home waiting for him to return and for him to be in her arms again
