You Are the Generation That Bought More Shoes and You Get What You Deserve Lyrics
I just can't help believing
Though believing sees me cursed
For belief ignores the heathens
Day by day sigh 'even worse'
But for all we are receiving
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that bought more shoes and you get what you deserve
Winter sweeps the streets of evening,
This frequency's my universe
To reel a deep or meaning feeling
In seas where schools of fools be first
But for all we are receiving
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that snorts fortunes and you get what you deserve
Yeah Yeah! (ooh baby) (8x)
But we're all receiving (4x)
Burberry Beamer Beakheads
Leaving Adidas sleek mystique reversed
Without a dream or scream between 'em
Believing time does reimburse
So for all we are receiving
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that bought more shoes and you get what you deserve
Though believing sees me cursed
For belief ignores the heathens
Day by day sigh 'even worse'
But for all we are receiving
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that bought more shoes and you get what you deserve
This frequency's my universe
To reel a deep or meaning feeling
In seas where schools of fools be first
But for all we are receiving
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that snorts fortunes and you get what you deserve
Leaving Adidas sleek mystique reversed
Without a dream or scream between 'em
Believing time does reimburse
There's an evens key to turn
You was the generation that bought more shoes and you get what you deserve

Great pop song. Obviously, it deals with consumerism, but I think it is about the entitlement and superficiality in modern society, where it is hard to believe in anything, because we are so caught up, like "schools of fools" with more superficial things.
Kind of depressing message for a really upbeat song.
god this song is fucking amazing.
Amazing song. Constantly stuck in my head.
Awesome lyrics! Adam Curtis as usual uses very apt lyrics in his media collage of docu\'s that sum up the world we all live in. Freedom is great but it has to be fused for something more than shopping. Otherwise we don\'t deserve it and our children are doomed to fight and die en masse for it again in the future. iT STARTS WITH THE INDIVIDUAL BUT HAS TO END WITH THE GREATER SOCIETY AND GROUP./S. Our true power lies in what we can achieve with and for others.
