Pack Up Lyrics

I get tired and upset
And I'm trying to care a little less
When I Google, I only get depressed
I was taught to dodge those issues I was told
Don't worry, there's no doubt
There's always something to cry about
When you're stuck in an angry crowd
They don't think what they say before they open their mouths

Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
And bury them beneath the sea
I don't care what the people may say
What the people may say 'bout me
Pack up your troubles, get your old grin back
Don't worry about the cavalry
I don't care what the whispers say
'Cause they whisper too loud for me

Hot topic, maybe I should drop it
It's a touchy subject
And I like to tiptoe 'round the tiff
You got penny, but no pound
Your business is running out
Not my business to talk about
They don't think what to say when they open their mouths

Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
And bury them beneath the sea
I don't care what the people may say
What the people may say 'bout me
Pack up your troubles, get your old grin back
Don't worry about the cavalry
I don't care what the whispers say
'Cause they whisper too loud for me

Pack up your troubles in your old, big bag
And bury them beneath the sea
I don't care what the people may say
What the people may say 'bout me
Pack up your troubles, get your old grin back
Don't worry about the cavalry
I don't care what the whispers say
'Cause they whisper too loud for me

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Love this song! Perfect for the summer, noticed a couple mistakes though I think:

In the first verse, it is "I was taught to dodge those issues, I was told..." - rather than touch.

And the chorus; "Pack up your troubles in your old, big bag And bury them beneath the sea" :]

I think moneybox is right. I was sure it was "Pack up your troubles in your old, big bag, And bury them beneath the sea", and was almost convinced I was wrong (and disappointed that the lyrics weren't as good as I thought they were) by seeing these incorrect lyrics everywhere I looked on the web.

And moneybox is right about that line in the first verse too.

Sort them out.

Yeah, there the CORRECT lyrics, who wrote the ones on here?

I didn't know whining was better than messaging to me about it.

I don´t care what the whisperers say, cause they whisper to loud for me......... For me that´s defenitely the best part of the lyrics. Maybe they should print it and make a poster for in high schools...? That would be fun.

I thought it was "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag" from the old world war one song? You know, "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and smile, smile, smile"?

I think the meaning is pretty damn obvious here.

"I don't care what the people may say, what the people may say about me"

It's that whole critiques mess. What's interesting to me is that Eliza had someone else singing that chorus ("Pack up your drama in your old, big big, and bury them beneath the sea", as well as the second part), as if the guy was talking to her, saying she should care about what people say. After the guy sings his part, Eliza sings that first verse I put there.

I do find the theme extremely blent (and a LOT of new and even older artists use it in their songs), but the song, with its happy form, seems to be such a helper. Someone helped Eliza with this problem, and, in order get her attention, even told her: "don't worry 'bout the cavalry".

By the way: the guy's name is Lloyd wade!!

I like this song. Like others have said, its meaning is self-explanatory. Pack Up is about not caring what others think of you and to just let go, and be carefree. The video shows this carefree attitude too. I love the jazzy aspect to the song and Lloyd Wade's voice.

Why’s the guy singing “don’t you worry ’bout the calvary”? Presumably this song is directed at Jesus?
