Home Lyrics
The crowded room is full of empty faces
The deepest conversation full of lies
Another night with all my friends
The kind you never see again
I wonder if they see through my disguise
And I want to say
That I can't hold back
And I might be wrong
But it's all I have
Come take me home tonight
Come take me home
I need you now
I'm lost without you
A million miles
And I will find you
So take me home
It's 3 am and I can't sleep without you
I think I found the perfect words to say
Satellite transmits my voice
Sometimes we don't have a choice
I wake you up from half a world away
And I try so hard
Try to be so strong
But you see the cracks
My defense is gone
Come take me home tonight
Come take me home
Oh, I need you now
I'm lost without you
A million miles
But I will find you
Come take me home tonight
Come take me home
Come take me home tonight
Come take me home
A satellite transmits my voice
Sometimes we don't have a choice
I wake you up from half a world away
I need you now
I'm lost without you
I'm holding on
'Til I can find you
So take me home
The deepest conversation full of lies
Another night with all my friends
The kind you never see again
I wonder if they see through my disguise
And I want to say
That I can't hold back
And I might be wrong
But it's all I have
Come take me home
I need you now
I'm lost without you
A million miles
And I will find you
So take me home
I think I found the perfect words to say
Satellite transmits my voice
Sometimes we don't have a choice
I wake you up from half a world away
And I try so hard
Try to be so strong
But you see the cracks
My defense is gone
Come take me home
Oh, I need you now
I'm lost without you
A million miles
But I will find you
Come take me home
Come take me home tonight
Come take me home
Sometimes we don't have a choice
I wake you up from half a world away
I need you now
I'm lost without you
I'm holding on
'Til I can find you

I'll give this song a go.
The first verse talks about probably life on the road. Each night you go somewhere, like a bar or something with a bunch of strangers, however you interact and mingle, putting on these conversations just for show, therefore having "deepest conversation full of lies" and acting like they are friends, even though it's temporary and you'll never see them again. Meanwhile he's trying to deal with it and enjoy it, but he "can't hold back" and has to reach out to his significant other, and say how much he misses her, wishing he could be home with her.
The chorus emphasizes wanting to be home because it's the only place of belonging.
The second verse talks about giving her a call, the "satellite" being the many modes of communication that exist today--telephone especially. They don't have a choice but keeping in touch by these means because he has to be away, and being "half a world a way" is the different time zones and distance in between.
Then the end talks about holding on till he can be home, because home and she is all he really has and what really matters.
first to comment! :D
love the intro! clearly from the lyrics it talks about how he feels in a long distance relationship, how he's tired of the same things, he's strong but he knows he's falling apart, he's lost without her and is just holding on.
I think in a way he also wants to be rescued, like a child that's lost and wants someone to take him back home.
This is a common love story. Sometimes you have to go through life on your own to find yourself before you can find your love. You try and try to reach someone but you can't because you don't have the means within yourself. Life is one big party and nobody wants to go home yet, even if you have to die in the moment. This is what happens when you take that walk, and how else can you tell someone something so strong straight from the soul than screaming it at the world?
