Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever) Lyrics

I was searching
You were on a mission
Then our hearts combined like
A neutron star collision

I have nothing left to lose
You took your time to choose
Then we told each other
With no trace of fear that

Our love would be forever
And if we die
We die together
And lie, I said never
'cause our love would be forever

The world is broken
Halos fail to glisten
You try to make a difference
But no one wants to listen

Hail,
The preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate
Like snowflakes in an ocean

Love is forever
And we'll die, we'll die together
And lie, I say never
'cause our love could be forever

Now I've got nothing left to lose
You take your time to choose
I can tell you now without a trace of fear

That my love will be forever
And we'll die
We'll die together
Lie, I will never
'cause our love will be forever

This song is a total and geniune MASTERPIECE from start to finish. Anything sounds perfect it from the gentle piano and Bellamy subtle voice (reminiscent of the late Freddie Mercury) then the excellent backing vocals from Christopher Wolstenholme to the epic drummage explosion from the brillant Dominic Howard , brillantly melted with the synthe riff.

This track would have fit EASILY on their brillant fifth album and it's easily their best work after MK Ultra and Resistance on it.

I'm laughing pretty hard at all the so called haters who are crying out loud "Muse is my fave band ever but this is mainstream shit !" "they suck ! they ve sold their soul to the twilight devil !" "where is the band who was making time is running out and bliss" ROFLMAO How IRONIC Is THIS ? Nothing is more MAINSTREAM and CHEESY Lyrically AND Musically Wise than Bliss and TIRO !

Give me the peace and joy in your mind for four straight minutes = ultra cheesy and repetitive

I wanna play the game, I want the friction ! = super cheesy and one of their worst work EVER.

NSC totally blews those two out of the water by it's deepness, subtility, poetry, sensitivity and unique majestic aura.

This is a pure beauty and I'm so glad they do play it on EVERY SINGLE GIG since it's released, a beautiful way to tell you HATERS to STICK IT To The Arse BIG TIME !

MUSE Is ALIVE and better than EVER !

Oh and I'm laughing so hard at the guy who claimed Matt's voice is not as good as it was six years ago.

Reality check : He has never sang as greatly as NOW.

Listen to the so called masterpiece OOS and compare his voice there to what we can hear on this track and resistance = He has improved big time and NSC destroys anything from Showbiz vocally wise IMO

Are you telling me that there is as much emotion in his voice as their used to be? Dead star being the perfect example. I was a little harsh to say his voice has deteriorated, but it has changed, and just to point out, you obviously don't know what Time is running out is about if you think it has cheesy lyrics, so get your facts correct before you start ranting about people

I totally agree with you Kyledusk.

Joe Rosenfeld, you've just shown me how awful your knowledge of music and Bellamy voice and lyrics in particular is.

His voice is unbeareable on Dead Star album recording. The guy screams like a pig someone is opening the throat with a knife !

While here Bellamy poses his voice way way better, anyone with a proper ear AND knowledge about how to use your voice efficiently to sing better (I can tell I've been getting singing lessons for years) will tell you that his singing has improved BIG TIME between the OOS/Dead Star Era and The Resistance one.

I love this. And aside from the usual Twilight Haters that will hate this song for that reason alone...I applaud that it is not a typical sounding mainstream song to release as a first single off a soundtrack even if it is Twilight...what with the slow intro and slow/piano ending. I hope it takes off...

That said...my favorite part is the chorus. While I ADORE Matt's falsetto...I do so love to hear him sing in full voice. Lyrics have been called cheesy on blogs and youtube but I don't think they are at all. I think they are romantic lyrics...but I always think that about MAtt's lyrics.. :) BTW...any declaration of love can come off sounding cheesy. It's only because we tend to be jaded about love itself that we can think that way. I would love a T-shirt that says "MUSE fans-Our Love is Forever!" lol

But knowing that he wrote this after he and Gaia broke up makes me sad for Matt. :( And that said, by the lyrics it sounds like she left Matt...or didn't wanna make up her mind and commit to him like he had hoped or something. She must be an idiot to let him go. Sorry Gaia, but we're all thinkin' it.

BEST COMMENT EVER, thank you so much for being a wonderful human being and a TRUE muse fan!! I'm so sick of the people who hate it just because it's related to Twilight. I feel exactly the same way, especially that last part...what an idiot she is.

and I would totally buy that t-shirt!

THANKS! My question to people that say all the crap about "Muse has sold out" or "I hate that Muse is associated with Twilight" or blah blah blah and YET claim they are die-hard Muse fans...is this: Would you say all that crap to Matt's face? If the answer is "yes" then you really are NOT a true Muse fan. If the answer is "no"...then you are a hypocrite! I wouldn't care if their music was in Dora the Explorer...it's Muse and Matt's a friggin' genius and they should be able to do what they want with THEIR music...

omg! thank you, thank you, thank you i totally agree tat, this song is awesome and i would so buy that shirt in a heart beat, and gaia is the stupidest chick on this planet. ur second comment is soooo true if they really truly loved muse they wouldn't care if it associated wit anything, the fact that its a muse song should make u in love wit it in a second.

One thing I've got to tell all of you who are under the delusion that Muse is doing songs like this for money and publicity:

MATT. BELLAMY. GENUINELY. LIKES. THE. TWILIGHT. SERIES.

He's said it on his website. Has a page dedicated to that. So chill out and quit hating on him.

Also, why the hell would MUSE (yes, the international rock sensation that is shaking the foundations of music and re-defining the word rock, with millions of fans around the globe) need to do a couple songs for a crappy pop-culture, teeny-bopper romance/horror film? Trust me, a band this amazing would not need to lean on something like Twilight, let alone the fact that they're GOOD GUYS AND THEY WOULDN'T.

So now, to address the "ugh, I don't like NSC because it's so soft and typical and wah, I'm just going to whine because Muse is going all soft and lovey-dovey and public". Give me a freaking break, people. Did you use your ears to listen to the Resistance, or was your head too far up your butt? I mean, really, MK Ultra? Hello, they're sticking with their roots.

Matt Bellamy recently went through a break-up with a girlfriend that he'd been in a long-term relationship with. Like, 8 years long-ish. That's a long time. I think that this song is just a summation about how he feels about having to end that, combined with a bit of that Twilight-love-story. This is a song purely about how love can feel for people. That feeling that you can shake the world, can do anything, you're more powerful than anyone because you have love. Bellamy has stated in interviews that he often uses celestial terms or the idea of space to convey ideas as big as love or power (just listen to Black Holes and Revelations) the same way that poets use the ocean as a similar kind of metaphor. So I think that this song is just his sort of release of his emotions regarding love. It's quite simple, really.

I keep having to say this: They make the music for themselves, not us. It's not selfish, it's just the way it is.

For me, this song is kind of a sort of mash-up of all of their work. Like, this is the kind of song that people will use as an example to roughly give people an idea of their music. I'm not saying it's their best work, because music is just feelings. And you can't have "best feelings". It just doesn't work.

I think you all could seriously benefit from wiping all that "Muse is going mainstream" crap from your mind and just letting them take you on a freaking journey. You can't tell them how to do their work. Their work is their mind, and you can't tell them to change their mind. They are individual and beautiful. Get over it.

I totally agree with everything you said there, and I laughed at where you did an accurate impression of most of the other comments on this thread. I mean, not every song any band writes is good, and there happens to be one muse song that I don't like coughhoodoocough and that's just because I don't like it. So don't hate the song because it is 'soft' or 'mainstream' because it isn't

Yeah, this isn't my favorite song, either. Although, the clips in the video where Matt is all slowed down and his arm moves really slow and his eyes are shut in a very sensual way and he thrusts out his hips somehow warmed me to the song...

I love this song. Matt's voice is so powerful, despite the mega-cheesy lyrics, the drums are AMAZING, and the bass is brilliant. Not typical Muse, nevertheless I still enjoy it. It sounds remarkably like Queen too, which is fine :D

I broke up with my girlfriend about 1 month ago, for me it feels like when you are singing this song is pretty much how I feel right now and how Matt felt the same 'cause actually the song was written when Matt broke up with his girlfriend about 8 months ago or something, and he pretty much wrote that song immediately after that.

Matt said that it was like that song was reflecting on that moment when you first get with someone and everything feels like it's going to go on forever and it's bit of like a true love sentiment. When he wrote that song it was quite heavy because it was like a memory of what it used to be like when you used to think that way but now obviously it's the complete opposite of that when you break up. When he's singing that song, he's kind of coming from that perspective...

Just like him in that time, I feel the song is representing a difficult period of my life right now until I might be changed eventually.

Memory

aww im so sorry that ur gf broke up wit u, hopefully u'll find someone better or maybe get back wit her. good luck!

Well I for one couldn't give a shit if other Muse fans hate this song. I'm a Muse fan and I love it. And for the record, I've read Twilight and couldn't stand it, so I just choose to completely dissociate this song from Twilight and listen to it in it's own right.

Although this song is obviously a love song, in true Muse fashion I think it's saying more about standing together to overthrow injustice etc etc. The second verse is my favourite.

I don't need anyone's sense of approval to tell you how much I adore this masterpiece.

I luv this song!!! I listened to it first on radio 1 and he explained that he wrote it after he broke up with his girlfriend.

Well, despite being a bit like twilight, only Muse can think up a name like Neutron Star Collision. And the solo is great too.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! Muse are my all-time favourite band. This song sucks balls. They tried to cling on to their "space prog" image with the title "neutron star collision" but the lyrics are not good. The music isn't half bad i will say, the solo is diabolical, and his voice has deteriorated a little since the absolution era. Watch the Glastonbury 2004 headline set they did. Then listen to this song. I plead with all muse fans not to accept this bullshit, and remember things like "hyper music", "space dementia", "showbiz", "futurism", "the small print", "new born" "apocalypse please", "citizen Erased", "Fury" and "Muscle Museum". All of the latter are better than this by a long shot, and muse can do better than this.

I agree with Joe for the most part, with exception of voice deterioration. To Spiderdom, yes his voice is great, but that doesn't make the song awesome. It is, as you say, cheesey and lacks the creativity of 95% of their other works.

This song just really has no intrigue and nuance, for a band and lyricist who thrives on complex lyrics. It sounds extremely campy. Perhaps that's why Twilight is using the song, as I also think this of Starlight. Hopefully the 13 year old Twilighters will also think the song stinks(not likely), and stop flooding Muse...

I completely agree with what you're saying... I'm going to see Muse in september, but I wish I was going to see them in the Hullabaloo era, apart from Knights of Cydonia, since Absolution they've not impressed me as much, although still been damn good, but Neutron Star Collision takes the biscuit for naffness.

In short, here is a perfect example of a band killed by commerciality.

The hullabaloo era was fantastic i do agree, but i thought the absolution tour they were on fire. Like the glasto muscle museum performance was outstanding i thought, but that is from the showbiz era. Is it manchester you are going to?
