She's Long Gone Lyrics
She was made to pour you away
She don't care what any man say
You can watch her strut
But keep your mouth shut
Or it's rumination day
Well now she's long, long gone
Oh now she's long, yea now she's long gone
Like Moses through the corn
Well her eyes, they're rubies and pearls
And she's not made like those other girls
Well her lashes flap
And they smack me back
Like springs bouncing off of a curls
Oh now she's long, long gone
Now, she's long, long gone
Like Moses through the corn
Rock on
She don't care what any man say
You can watch her strut
But keep your mouth shut
Or it's rumination day
Oh now she's long, yea now she's long gone
Like Moses through the corn
And she's not made like those other girls
Well her lashes flap
And they smack me back
Like springs bouncing off of a curls
Now, she's long, long gone
Like Moses through the corn

I know this site's about the lyrics, but man, the riff in this song is a straight up taken from Muddy Waters' "She's Alright" off his 'Electric Mud' album.
The Keys' song is kickass, but basically a cover, and not even electrified or anything, cos the MW original is already electric, distorted, and with thudding drums.
it's "blow" not pour...this song is so sexy..."she's not made like those other girls"...definately a top song off the brothers album
Also, it's "ruination day," and "they smack men back, like springs bouncing off of her curls." Amazing song.
Rubies and pearls are traditional jewels worn by members of Alpha Omicron Pi.
No one will find that as awesome as me... So, yeah. awesome.
The correct lyrics, off the CD: She was made to blow you away She don't care what any man say You can watch her strut But keep your mouth shut Or it's a ruination day
She's long, long gone She's long gone like Moses through the corn
Her eyes are rubies and pearls And she's not made like those other girls Her lashes flap and they smack men back Like springs they bounce off her curls
I think this song is about flappers in the roaring twenties. This woman, was "made to blow you away" and also, didn't care at all what "any man say", the line "her lashes flap, and they snap men back" is also a very accurate description of flappers with their outrageous makeup. This type of women, elegant and glamorous, is really "long gone". Also, "her eyes are made of rubies and pearls" is referring to all the jewellery they wore. Oh, and the "curls" hairstyle was a popular one in the '20's. This song is absolutely fantastic!!
