Does anyone have any ideas on the significance behind "20 days"? Unless it has something to do with 20 days and 20 nights, I'm all out of ideas. But there is a song that goes "20 days and 20 nights I've been a fool", so maybe she has been a fool for awhile, but now that she's figured it out (what kind of person her partner is?), she's mad.
That's the only thing I could come up with...
I was pretty sure it was Jack singing this one...
But I just think that it doesn't mean mad as only anger, but maybe mentally also which is why they're laughing?
Okay okay I think I get it now I think that it's about a love/hate relationship, when someone just drives you so crazy, and you want to stop caring, so it makes you 'mad' in a lot of senses of the word. I don't know, I feel that way lately, and then I was listening to this song the other day and it just seemed to fall into place for me.
I think this song is about drug rehabilitation. About 7-10 days later, you start getting irritable from the withdrawl. So, the 20 days referred to in the song is the remainder of the month (totaling 30 days). Often rehabs are minimum of 30 days. I think, at the same time, the story of being mad may be about "detoxing" from a relationship; the person you got high with. You relate to people much differently (in a more intimate way) when you're high.
