If I Could Lyrics
When we both change, I will explain
I will explain
But I see you asleep, you see my tears
So I will speak
From what I've heard
Your heart has burnt
Its ashes blow, so it's my turn
And from what I've seen, one can dream
That you and me can wipe the slate clean
Night turns all dark, leaves its mark upon my heart
So I wait for the sun to fill my lungs with its songs
From what I've heard
Your heart has burnt
Its ashes blow, so it's my turn
And from what I've seen, one can dream
That you and me can wipe the slate clean
And from what I've learnt
It won't hurt until you say the three famous words
And if I could go back
If I could go back
If I could go back
If I could go back
I will explain
But I see you asleep, you see my tears
So I will speak
Your heart has burnt
Its ashes blow, so it's my turn
And from what I've seen, one can dream
That you and me can wipe the slate clean
So I wait for the sun to fill my lungs with its songs
Your heart has burnt
Its ashes blow, so it's my turn
And from what I've seen, one can dream
That you and me can wipe the slate clean
And from what I've learnt
It won't hurt until you say the three famous words
And if I could go back
If I could go back
If I could go back
If I could go back

I love this song :) I think it's about a kind of young and naive love that someone feels towards another, but one person in the relationship has experienced heartbreak. Maybe the other feels that they should 'wipe the slate clean' and heal it. Because they haven't actually proclaimed their love for eachother, it won't hurt them.
Perhaps they like eachother, but they aren't admitting it?
Just my interpretation, there's lyrics in this song I don't understand.
Minor corrections: it's "But I see you asleep, you seem at peace."
