Older Lyrics
Climb the cliff, Tower over all
And falling water, falling waterfall
And after all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
Its time to dry off tattered overalls
Impatient waiting, Way to hide a fall
And after all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
And after all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
After all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
And after all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
And falling water, falling waterfall
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
Impatient waiting, Way to hide a fall
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Dont want to understand why you never get older

I believe it's about how difficult it can be going on living without someone who used to be important to you, but who has passed away. "Don't want to understand why you never get older" is the most powerful line for me, since it captures that strange feeling you experience when you realise that you are getting older, going on with your life, and making plans, while this person you've lost will forever stay the way the were when they passed, and never grow older with you.
Sounds like being in love with someone that you find not mature enough, but you love him nevertheless.
My sense is that this song is about a failed relationship - he makes plans but must abandon them because the person has either passed away, as mentioned above, or the person never matures despite time that goes by and never really becomes capable of a relationship. "Never get older" could mean that the love interest holds onto her youth to the point where she never grows out of childhood, never grows up emotionally.
Definitely my favorite from the new album!
sounds like the beach boys
I just love to sing this song! I met Ryan before their concert and he was so polite and lovely.
They're just fabulous.

Listened to the live version of this song and I think it's "Impatient waiting, way to high to fall"
Loooove this song by the way
I personally think that it's about falling in love with someone who is younger than you, and you are "impatienty waiting" for them, and you try to hide it.... "way to hide a fall", then you fail to hide it and your "plans melt into the sand" as if you were planning to keep it a secret then when everyone finds out you push the age aside and stop caring what people think. "yeah you will be on my mind through all" no matter what those people think. Makes since to me man.... but it could be just the way I look at it. My friend is in this situation.
Vampire, anyone?? Lol. That would certainly explain the not getting older part. But I'm just kidding..lol. I think it's probably about a lost love and he/she never gets older in his/her memories.
I think this song's about a love of nature. Climbing the cliff, seeing the falling waterfalls. Nature never get older. It's always the same every time you come back to it. As soon as you let your schedule, your plans, melt into the sand; nature is there. A little different take on it, but I like to think it means so.
