o0Oo0Oo Lyrics

o0o0o0ooo
o0o0o0ooo

And I'll just keep on stumbling
Right now it feels too humbling
To tell you what I want

And the city's feeling queer and crass
With beer cans growing blades of grass
To look like something new

o0o0o0ooo
o0o0o0ooo
o0o0o0ooo

o0o0o0ooo
o0o0o0ooo
o0o0o0ooo

And I know that you love me
But I'm just too damn hungry
For loving that I don't need
And I know that you like my shoes

If you wish you could count for every inch
And every ounce of everything that you leak
And you'll die by the time you're thirty

Slithering snakes in garden rakes
Don't got what it takes
To give you what you need

o0o0o0ooo

My take:

The speaker is going to hook up with this girl even though he doesn't share her feelings of romance. In the first stanza I think that confessing his true motives would be humbling since hers are much nobler. The second stanza is about romanticizing the circumstances, making something natural, innocent, and new grow out of trash (I imagine that this girl is drinking Natty light since bitch beer doesn't usually come in cans). In the fourth stanza he knows that what he is doing is wrong, but the male ego triumphs over morality once again and he flattery rules his judgement. In the fifth stanza I take the death as a figurative one, that this girl won't be able to expect so much for long. Everyone is at least a little jaded by the time thirty rolls around. Just like bbcman, I also think the last stanza is a Garden of Eden reference (I mean, "garden snake"). The speaker is just like the tempting snake, there to trick his victim for his own sinister purpose only to slither away.

I love how the speaker of the song is pretty much an asshole, but the music sounds so sweet. I am a sucker for nonsense words or sounds as a chorus. Even after listening to the song on repeat and looking at the lyrics with a bit of a man-hating, uptight bitch view, I would still sleep with him.

I imagine this song will get pretty popular pretty fast as it has just been released as a song on a Sobe commercial. Awesome song, but there are a few corrections it should be "And you wish that you could count for every inch And every ounce of everything that you meet"

I don't really know what the lyrics are saying in this song, but what makes me love this song so much is how it seems tok be able to tell a story with the feeling of the music. In the beginning it sounds sort of hopeless, but as it progresses it builds up in a happy sort of way. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about.
