Woody's Hood Boogie Woogie Lyrics
We're goin out tonight so we can clear our worried heads, and shake some dust off.
We gotta get up every day at 8 and see the whole day through,
with no time to waste.
Ya know I've heard terrible things, but nothing near as close to home,
and nothing oh so sad.
It's got me thinking, I'm hoping that won't happen to us.
I just can't believe he lost his lover and his child, both in the same day.
Now his baby's gone to heaven and his wife has lost her mind.
Oh it's a damn shame.
Let's go drinkin', I'm hoping that won't happen to us.
Should we go down to church on every Wednesday and Sunday morning,
to be on God's side?
I've been thinkin, about living life my way,
and the truth is, that we'll all get burned,
some day.
We gotta get up every day at 8 and see the whole day through,
with no time to waste.
and nothing oh so sad.
Now his baby's gone to heaven and his wife has lost her mind.
Oh it's a damn shame.
to be on God's side?
and the truth is, that we'll all get burned,
some day.

"Should we go down to church on every Wednesday and Sunday morning, to be on God's side?"
is this referring to mormonism, because i'm pretty sure those are their 2 church days..? i'm not sure, but for some reason that's the first thing i thought of when i heard this line
Mormons definitely only have church on Sunday... I think Baptists have it Sunday & Wednesday, maybe? hmmm.

This is actually a song written for their close friend Anthony Green whom lost a child to miscarriage. So it's a comfort song about clearing their heads and helping a friend out.
wow, I did not know that. thanks.

I feel like this song (more specifically the last half) is about how no matter what you do, shit will happen. Going to church and being on "God's side" isn't going to help you because "the truth is we all get burned" no eventually.
