Lucky Strike (Foot Ox) Lyrics
I'll never be the comfort
you lost when you were nine or so
I can't fill those big old holes
but you knew that about me
I never want to wake up
live in your fake memory
I want to wake up in your bed
fucking scared
Pushing through the bullshit
and working up the nerve to speak
I'll never fix your car
or find you another dead end job
So lets lay on this carpeted floor
and draw with crayons
you lost when you were nine or so
I can't fill those big old holes
but you knew that about me
live in your fake memory
I want to wake up in your bed
fucking scared
Pushing through the bullshit
and working up the nerve to speak
or find you another dead end job
So lets lay on this carpeted floor
and draw with crayons

I like the original better, and I say that as a huge AJJ fan. Such a great song, though.
Can anyone figure out what that third line is really saying? I really like to play this song but "big of holes" doesn't make sense... I've seen big dark holes but that doesn't sound right, I sing it as "big ol' holes" which sort of makes sense.
Also if you like AJJ get some Foot Ox, especially this song, their music is free in several places including last.fm

@thechrisray I think it must mean something that's missing from that person's life. A father, mother, their childhood, etc. So A hole in their life.

@thechrisray And also, 'big ol' holes" would make sense, too. Because they "lost" that "comfort" when they were "9 or so", so they'd be old. idk
