Great Britain Lyrics

Im from a Little place called Great Britain,
But I dont know if I love or hate Britain,
These words upon my page Britain,
Are things that make and break, Britain. [X2]

One Each,
to the left to the left,
Could have been the difference between life and death,
A Knife wound to the heart, to the side of the chest,
Could have been one statistic less.

See Sometimes Great Britain ain't that great,
Kids getting stabbed at an alarming rate,
The press with a passion to exaggerate,
Increasingly Clueless, Hairs a state,

See Knife Crime Knife crime it ain't about knifes,
Its about young britain and their ways of life,
You don't solve knife crime by taking knives at hand,
You solve it by a new head of potent plans,

Its got positives though, I swear its true,
In the south- east, west and the midlands too,
We got diversity, that shines on through,
Who makes the best music in the world?
We Do!

Im from a Little place called Great Britain,
But I dont know if I love or hate Britain,
These words upon my page Britain,
Are things that make and break, Britain. [X2]

In a 2008-2009 Governenment report,
Violent crime was not listed to increase, or decrease,
it was instead listed as stable.

Now what I ask you is,
Is stable really acceptable?
See between 2003 and 2008,
the number of children admitted into NHS hospitals with knife wounds,
saw a rise of 120 percent.

So in my eyes,
2008 and 2009s stability,
Just marks that casts, as desensitised.

But statistics can be twisted,
And our contexts arent realistic,
And with despising moments simplistic,
We need to fight this and resist it!

But I dont know if I love or hate Britain,
These words upon my page Britain,
Are things that make and break, Britain. [X4]

To correct, in the chorus it is actually "These words upon my page, written"

Lyric Correction

CD arrived today. Booklet says

And our contexts aren't realistic

should be

And out of context aren't realistic

and

You don't solve knife crime by taking knives out of hand

should be

You don't solve knife crime by taking knives out their hands

Apart from that lyrics are as I posted above

Love this song, this is how I feel about Great Britain. I love our history, sporting prowess, literature, music and art but am always reminded of gun/knife crime on the news. Great Britain will never be "great" again until we get rid of these poorly brought up kids and gangster culture that is poisoning the country.
