Nothing Is Written Lyrics

I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust
Which we've known
Will blow away with this new sun

And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Wait for now

So break my step
And relent
You forgave and I won't forget
Know what we've seen
And him with less
Now in some way
Shake the excess

And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Know my ground

Now I'll be bold
As well as strong
Use my head alongside my heart
So take my flesh
And fix my eyes
That tethered mind free from the lies

And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Know my ground
And I'll kneel down
Wait for now

Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

And raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

I believe 'sun' should be 'son' in the line "Will blow away with this new sun", the reason is because he is singing about how he was heavy with guilt and he came to Christ to have it lifted from him. This is confirmed by the lyrics "I'll kneel down" and "bow my head" later on in the song.

The whole song is clearly about salvation and the more I listen to it the clearer it becomes. This isn't the only song about salvation by mumford and sons in my opinion.

To me, this is obviously about a time of surrender to God.

So take my flesh And fix my eyes - biblical references

I'll kneel down - to kneel is to surrender

And to raise your hands is also a sign of surrender and realisation of who you are before God.

Totally agree with the both of you. I am glad I am not the only one who sees such truths in Mumfords songs. This song is plainly about salvation.

It's definitely 'sun'. The official lyrics came with Babel.

I think they are calling this song "I'll Kneel Down"...

I was hoping that it was I'll kneel down Your my ground
