correct me if i'm wrong, but this is an amazing song and should have a page full of comments haha I see this as a song about looking back at a past relationship, perhaps his first true love relationship. He says its been long enough that he can think about and speak to the girl, which shows it has been some time since the breakup. Then he takes the blame and gives blame; basically saying that they both had faults, perhaps alot of fights were involved in the breakup of the relationship and they were possibly all blamed on one or the other. his course "what if we got it all wrong" shows how he still loves her, he wants her back possibly and is saying, what if its still there? but maybe we just have to try it a different way. (ex. taking responsibilities for their actions). The whole song basically says they tried so hard to make it work and then in the end they decided it wouldnt. now time has passed and he thinks they had it all wrong. he thinks it can still work, he thinks they just gave up too soon.

that sounds right, and i agree, this song is sooo amazing. its like how at first relationships are so fun and exciting and amazing, but then things have to get serious and you have to take care of each other...and they didn't so it got messed up, and it ended..but maybe they got it all wrong, and they shoudl try again.
