Good Neighbor Lyrics
So there you are until the dawn
Still whistling that same old song
Happy all the time
Now she gives you the shoulder
Look into her eyes, you can not control her
Smile and nod your head
You are the cause of it
This is not your dream
Hey there you fucking bum, look what you have become
No secrets without walls
A social free-for-all
Come on and get it all for free
Just hit that fucking key
Your long-term memory pushed aside
I'm not evaporating, pushed aside!
Let them sit gorged and frozen, pushed aside!
In their immediacy, suicide by way of information
So there you are until the dawn
Suicide by way of information
Still whistling that same old song
Happy all the time
Now she gives you the shoulder
Look into her eyes, you can not control her
You are the cause of it
This is not your dream
No secrets without walls
A social free-for-all
Come on and get it all for free
Just hit that fucking key
Your long-term memory pushed aside
I'm not evaporating, pushed aside!
Let them sit gorged and frozen, pushed aside!
In their immediacy, suicide by way of information
Suicide by way of information

I interpret this song to be about certain aspects of the internet.
"Hey there you fucking bum, look what you have become No secrets without walls A social free-for-all"
Most likely a reference to Facebook here ("walls"). Basically we are bombarded with information about everyone we know (which also ties in with the album's theme).
the line "Come on and get it all for free Just hit that fucking key" seems to be about piracy and illegal downloading, but it could also be a continuation of my previous interpretation, especially with the lines hat followed. "Your long-term memory pushed aside I'm not evaporating, pushed aside! Let them sit gorged and frozen, pushed aside! In their immediacy, suicide by way of information"
We are all caught up in the moment and do not think about the larger picture.
The bassist drescibed it as: "lyrics loosely stabbing at the musician/fan relationship in an age of uncontrolled transparency, unregulated thievery, and debatable integrity surrounding the music industry."
which supports what you've said. :)
