The Balcony

As it started raining, they stepped onto the balcony,
Their decency failing, they made love on the railing.
The truck-drivers beeped, 'cause they could be seen from the street,
The hotel manager cursed them, for being so obscene.
But they couldn't hear a thing, they we're deafened by the flood,
The hotel was sinking, but they floated high above.
Distracted by the rain, that fell between their lips,
And that which was happening, right there between their hips.
When the balcony broke, they fell two stories down,
Some say it was instant, others say that she drowned.
He knelt down beside her, naked and afraid,
He wished to be swept away too, he cried and then he prayed.
