as for the meaning i interpret it as the struggle in life to be living as a Christian and how if you actually believe in Christianity some people will try to make your life hell and this seems to be a call out to a fellow Christian(s) to keep fighting on in spite of what the world wants them to do

So it's a cry of hope for those still living on when the soldier is on the brink of death. The thought of the meaning gives me chills. I have such respect for people who put themselves out on the battle field. A life, to us humans, is the ultimate price, but to be unselfish while losing it? Astounding.
