Breaking Hearts Lyrics
You can stop your crying, I'm never coming back
You can stop your crying, just walk down the tracks again
I just can't take the pressure, it's all too much for me
I just can't take the pressure, please just let me be
See I've been, breaking hearts, for far too long
Been loving you, for far too long,
Making plans now, for far too long
Yes I've been breaking hearts, for far too long
Loving you, for far too long,
It's time I left, it's time I'm moving on.
I'm gonna find a city, call the streets my own
I'm gonna find a city, drink until it's gone
The girls there, look so pretty, treat me oh so well
The girl there look so pretty, all just empty shells to me
See I've been, breaking hearts, for far too long
Been loving you, for far too long,
Making plans now, for far too long
Yes I've been breaking hearts, for far too long
Loving you, for far too long,
It's time I left, it's time I'm moving on.
When I need the shelter, I'll know just who to call
When I need the shelter, I'll be knocking on your door
But when it comes to dying, I'll do it on my own
I've never been too clever, I've always just hung on.
See I've been, breaking hearts, for far too long
Been loving you, for far too long,
Making plans now, for far too long
Yes I've been breaking hearts, for far too long
Loving you, for far too long,
It's time I left, it's time I'm moving on.
You can stop your crying, just walk down the tracks again
I just can't take the pressure, it's all too much for me
I just can't take the pressure, please just let me be
Been loving you, for far too long,
Making plans now, for far too long
Yes I've been breaking hearts, for far too long
Loving you, for far too long,
It's time I left, it's time I'm moving on.
I'm gonna find a city, drink until it's gone

Yes I've been breaking hearts, for far too long
Loving you, for far too long,

I love this song, besides the fact that I don't really get where is meaning goes to. I guess that's about a breaking up, he's tired of a too much crazy relationship, that just make him get hurt.
Can't believe nobody commented on this! This track is amazing. I just feel blessed for knowing this extraordinary artist. He can take you to a completely different place. <3
This song is about a persons internal struggles with a relationship that they are no longer committed to. The person is thinking and has been thinking of leaving the relationship. They are trying to becoming brave by fantasizing about how they are going to do it and its potential outcome. Still comfort of the relationship is drawing the individual back to its safety. This was once a loving relationship has meaning to the individual. So in the event the person stays or leaves, hearts will be broken.
I think this song is about a break-up that the person didn't want. He still loves her but he's unable to cope with that when she is the one who broke up with him. So he decides to pretend like he broke up with her and he is done with her to spare his own feelings when in reality he wants nothing more than to get her back.
@solarcisco I wish you could edit comments. Anyway, this is not exactly what I think after all. I think this person was never in a relationship at all. He's talking about a really good friend that just doesn't see him as a romantic partner. The hearts he's broken are all the people that were interested in him but he didn't want because he wanted this particular person. The plans he made were not about breaking up, they were about asking her out and dreaming of their life together. The other girls he sees as empty shells are that to him...

The plans he made were not about breaking up, they were about asking her out and dreaming of their life together. The other girls he sees as empty shells are that to him because he only wants her, even though those girls treat him well. It's most obvious in the third verse where he speaks of her as a good friend, but not a life partner. And realizes his hopes of ever having more than friendship for so long were foolish in hindsight. So he acknowledges the situation and pretends to stop being a friend, but I feel like he will always be stuck in this bitter duality of letting her go and wanting her.
