Learning to Fall

It's been a long way down
I'm still learning to fall
I probably held him up too high
Higher than a man was meant to fly
I thought he'd always be the rock
But that all died the day my daddy walked
And time still holds the pain
But I won't lose my faith

And so I'm stronger now
But somewhere in my soul I know I'm running scared
Trying to get where to where I'm going

Back when I was just nineteen
Even God took my best friend from me
Won't the summer turn so cold
And now I'll never see his life unfold
