Some Kind Of Nature Lyrics
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of goal
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load
Some kind of metal made up from glue
Some kind of plastic I could wrap around you
The needy eat man-mades
They wear phony clothes
They sit with our picture up until they grow old
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of goal
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load
Well, me, I like plastics and digital foils
Could wrap up the sound and protect the girls
From the spiritual poison we expel at night
Like phony clothes but I really like might
Some kind of nature
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Come from within us
Oh Lord, forgive me
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
It's got to come and find us
All we are is dust
Some kind of metal made up from glue
Some kind of plastic I could wrap around you
The needy eat man-mades
They wear phony clothes
They sit with our picture up until they grow old
Some kind of nature
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul
Come from within us
Oh Lord, forgive me
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of gold
It's got to come and find us
All we are is dust
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of goal
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load
Some kind of plastic I could wrap around you
They wear phony clothes
They sit with our picture up until they grow old
Some kind of soul
Some kind of mixture
Some kind of goal
Some kind of majesty
Some chemical load
Could wrap up the sound and protect the girls
From the spiritual poison we expel at night
Like phony clothes but I really like might
Some kind of nature
Some kind of soul

From the iTunes special edition release with lyrics:
"Some kind of nature some kind of soul some kind of mixture some kind of goal some kind of majesty some chemical load
Some kind of metal made up from glue some kind of plastic I can wrap around you The needy eat man mades they wear phony clothes they sit with barbiturates until they grow old
Some kind of nature some kind of soul some kind of mixture some kind of goal some kind of majesty some chemical load
Well me I love plastics and digital foils to wrap up the sound and protect the girls from the spiritual poison we expel at night like phony clothes but I really like might
Some kind of nature, some kind of nature, some kind of soul come forth within us oh lord forgive me some kind of mixture some kind of goal it's gonna come and find us all we are is stars

When I first got this album, I listened to it in my car and this whole album and realized that it's very post-robotic apocalyptic kind of thing. I really enjoyed that and when I heard this song, it created an image in my mind of something that I thought was really spot-on. I pictured this endless landfill and someone just going through and picking up things that represent all of the things that he mentions (i.e gold, plastic to wrap around you, nature, soul). I know that's probably not what the writer is going for, but I thought it was a neat interpretation. I really enjoy this album.
We've escaped the horrors of the GlitterFreeze and stumbled numbly back into the strange civilization of the Plastics.
This area, though, is a bit of a slum, a filthy warren of drugged up hole-dwellers. We see the hivelike activity of the beings here...some kind of nature...very strange, but definitely with it's own twisted reason. Drawing back our gaze a bit, one can even fancy seeing each being glimmer like a star - a diamond cast randomly over frayed black velvet.
There may even be some kind of beauty...some kind of gold here. In fact there is a lovely hill just over in the distance...
I wanna know were people are getting these little story things they are beautiful

I know that its Lou Reed, but in the "canon" i guess you would say who sings the song? I imagined Murdoc

I always thought it was "some force within us"

My favourite song alongside pirate jet probably. It is neither Happy nor sad but sends a melancholic and sarcastic message. Too bad I'm probably the only one who thinks of it like this.
No you're not.
No you're not.
You are definitely not, pirate jet is my #1 on this album and Some Kind of Nature is #2.

"Well near the plastics And digital foils" should be "Well me, I like plastics And digital foils"
especially with what MissScarletMae said about mayonnaise, and flannelboard making reference to condoms (which I do think that passage is about), i'm more convinced than ever the song is about cum "some kind of mixture/chemical load/some kind of goal" i think its about cum and its place in the world today, you know and if we're becoming gradually and gradually distanced from nature, what about the most natural parts of us? etc.
regardless, its a great song, but that was the impression that i got
I agree with voyeurbambi. When I first heard the song, the "spiritual poison" line got me thinking about the juxtaposition of natural sexuality with cultural plasticity. In Western society we have non-natural hangups about sex and bodily functions from Judeo-Christian religious traditions ("Oh lord forgive me"), which Eastern cultures don't have. And, as mentioned above, condoms are synthetic (plastic), blocking natural occurrences related to sexual acts. A lot of women now have plastic breasts. I think it's about reconciling our "natural" bodily instincts with unnatural traditions and influences from society.

to me, this is about the kind of fake "nature" we have created that we live in.
"All we are is stars" sounds like it could also be "All we are is dust"
"The(?)man-made's, they wear phony clothes. They sit with barbiturates and filled with gold" could be "The needy eat (mayonnaise?), they wear phony clothes. They sit with barbiturate until they grow o-o-o-o-old"
Also one of the times near the end when 2d says "some kind of soul" sounds like it says "some kind of stone"...
This song is so well done, I love 2D in it. This is definitely one of the songs from the album that needs a music video to advance the story.
There actually is one. Every video has some sort of music video, but you can only watch them on the special edition.

Hot damn, are they story oriented or just kinda random vids? I may have to pick that version up somewhere.
