I think this song is about a guy who has a girlfriend, and is seeing another girl, that his girlfriend found out about. (Hey you, I wish I could hold you, I just want the old you When no one knew about us) The guy wishes he could still hold the other girl, but he cant now that people know. (Do you want to talk about it How they heard all about you And that it was tragic) Hes asking if she wants to hear the story of what happend & how everyone found out.
