Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
This is beautiful. The title just fits too well with the song. When i hear this, it always makes me think back to my childhood, and how everyday i only had one wish. To grow up. Back then, there was nothing to worry about. No finances, relationships, or emotional issues to deal with. The only goal in life was to have fun. Then finally, one day comes and something just seems different when you crawl out of bed. The world seems to have a different tint to it, and your eyes begin to become clear to what the world really is. It's not just the small neighborhood you've always lived in. That day, was the last day you and i were children. From that day forth, life would be quite different. Our eyes and minds would begin to see the world as it is; a mess. Corrupt, frightening, and a fierce opponent. At the end of the week, you realize that your life-long dream has finally come true. You've grown up. But, was it really worth the wait? Immediately you begin to miss Childhood the second it walks out the door. The adult life is here. And you have to make a choice. Stand up, look at the world, and charge into it with courage and confidence; or back down in to your corner, never seeing the world as anything but a large bundle of corruption.
Beautiful piece.
