My favorite song from Gold Motel so far. WHY ARE THERE NO COMMENTS?!?! To me, it's saying that she loves a person but being in a relationship will only result in her pulling down the other person she loves, harming them. She calls herself the "cruel one" because apparently, she's afraid of being cruel and hurting the person she really loves.
Makes one wonder what the bridge is all about though. i mean, "i don't wanna waste my days, worrying what they'll say / i don't wanna waste my time, standing in a waiting line..." here the persona implies that she wants to REACH OUT or GET something. These bridge lines seem to contrast the verses, wherein the persona claims that she would rather NOT be with someone or get something. Weird.
