relating a relationship to fireworks. once beautiful and exciting but now dull black marks on the concrete. can the excitment in the relationship be reignited?

letting go is the best way to hold on for example with money you can hold on to it forever but what good does it do you. it is better spent on something of more personal value. but more applicably rocky is probably refering to not worrying about what your going to miss when it's gone but letting go of those concerns and enjoying yourself. letting go now gives you something to hold onto later.

hence, "so let the light dance in the dark until it's gone, cause sparklers only burn for so long."

sparklers=good times

Kind of a simple song, rocky uses sparklers to describe how short and sweet a relationship has been for him. I think of swinging around sparklers and using them to write names in the sidewalk. "painting land that swings" painting the earth with his short sparkler. "the moon doesn't have a match to light for itself, it burns alone up there in it's own reflection.
