I can't beleive not one person has commented this. It's one of their best songs on the album. I really wish they played this live...
If I had to guess, I would say this song is about the departure of former guitarist Al Glassman. He joined Despised Icon in 2006 or 2007 and quit in 2008 to join Job for a Cowboy. I haven't read or heard anything about the split, but the lyrical references support my theory.
"It merely took a year for your pledge to disappear." -referring to his brief membership with Despised Icon
"May the desert bring you comfort." -Job for a Cowboy is from Arizona
"Enjoy your precious game of cowboys and Indians." -Clearly, a reference to Job for a Cowboy.
Like I said, purely speculation....But yeah...great song, great album! I was fucking thrilled to hear Despised Icon step it up and go completely balls to the wall!
