Hiding out behind the birch
and frozen lakes
The view of things seems clearer here
and my mistakes
Don't fill out the capacious bags
that I dragged upstairs
Gives me time to grow a love
where I had fear
How long will you wait
at the shady end of the slope
Am I already late
with my pyramid sized hopes
Still boy holds his breath
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
to the wolves
Stepping out of everything
to nothingness
Cause at every tick of the clock
our time weighs
A little less
How long will you wait
at the shady end of the slope
Am I already late
with my pyramid sized hopes
Still boy holds his breath
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
still boy waves his hand
One time too many
all dumb all deaf all turned over
To the wolves
Like the chickens need the fox
and daylight
Longs for the dark
I excuse myself to go and make my
Mark
Still boy holds his breath
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
still boy waves his hand
One time too many
all dumb all deaf all turned over
To the wolves
and frozen lakes
The view of things seems clearer here
and my mistakes
Don't fill out the capacious bags
that I dragged upstairs
Gives me time to grow a love
where I had fear
at the shady end of the slope
Am I already late
with my pyramid sized hopes
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
to the wolves
to nothingness
Cause at every tick of the clock
our time weighs
A little less
at the shady end of the slope
Am I already late
with my pyramid sized hopes
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
still boy waves his hand
One time too many
all dumb all deaf all turned over
To the wolves
and daylight
Longs for the dark
I excuse myself to go and make my
Mark
'til something appears
All dumb all deaf all turned over
still boy waves his hand
One time too many
all dumb all deaf all turned over
To the wolves

Great song, maybe the best of trespassers. I believe to be about someone thats kind of waiting on life instead of taking action, being too pasive and not proactive, waiting too long that good things will happen instead of making them happen.
Its a song about apathy, said Kasper Eistrup during a concert
well my interpretation is probably more than a little affected by the music video accompanying the single. No the less i will try to keep it out of my analyses and focus on the lyrics in themselves. i think the chorus of is the most telling part of the song. its about a boy waiting for something to come and save him. he is holding his breath, he is afraid, but he is also impatient. he cant wait forever for his saviour, so he eventually waves. he cries out for someone to come for him. he just want to feel alive. in a way he wants to not feel still anymore. but that is the crux. this is the terrible irony of the story. just in the moment he reaches out he is punished and devoured by the wolves, ready to devour everything. the man is just as desperate as the boy but he is too late. really this scene illustrates broken love. love broken not by people but by the circumstances and the times. right place, wrong time. my favourite lines of the song are: "like the chicken needs the fox/and the daylight/longs for the dark/I excuse myself to go and make my/mark. im not quite sure what the implications of these lines are. maybe that the world needs victims and perpetrators. we need the both the good and the bad. maybe the good is not good inspite but because of the bad. this mark of the narrator must be something he is not proud of, something that may shame the memory of the boy, but is still neccesary. might the narrator be a wolf himself?
