"Kids live fearlessly and curious lives Grow up to be so serious Lost time, broken dreams So usual Unpredictable, life's a miracle" this is so sad because its so true. i think this is what he means when he says "age old recital" in the last part of the song. "there is no release" from this cycle because there will always be people who go through life not following there dreams. life IS a miracle. tom wants everyone to follow their dreams because you cant be truly happy if you dont. and you cant love someone else if you dont first truly LOVE YOURSELF.
am i the only one who wishes that i could just sit with tom in some unknown hole in the wall bar and talk to him about anything and everything?

It is hard to love and be loved when you are not yourself.
Some reviews online are knocking this song for "We are are love / love is hard" line. They obviously aren't listening to the other lyrics. This song is amazing. It's about how so many people are down on themselves and are stuck in their "cycle", not living life, which is indeed a miracle.
I think the last line is "A slow rolling wave with a wake that's yet to come" which makes more sense than "A sole, lonely wave with the weight that's yet to come" but its so close to both of them that I'm not sure.
One of the best songs on the new album.
Good song but sounds too similar with The Adventure
Agreed, the melody line is too similar to The Adventure, you can pretty much sing them side by side.
