Just wanted to point out the "Cat thief" part.. A reference to Box Car Racer?
I think that it's kind of about looking back and seeing that you've made mistakes and that you haven't done anything about it and just tried to get others to fix them but they can't change the things that you've done. But then you finally can like work up the strength to try to make a difference and fix things and you find out that you can't change what you've already done, but even just trying to reach out to these people that you've hurt or whatever can make both of you feel better even though nothings really changed.
I dont know about you guys, but I like to think this whole album as a storyline. I knew it was a storyline even before they annnouncened they would make a movie with the same name.
In this particular one the lyrics sound like they are talking about a guy (?Lee?) that is shut out from the world.

but i think that line in particular is about how tom and mark got into a fight but they made up and their fight is over.
overall i think the songs basically about (A) just doing good deeds to make peoples life better and (B) that life isnt that bad.

The beginning is the best part of this song. This is just one of the many favorites on the album. But ahh the meaning. What I get is that this is about being shut off from the world. Your all alone, and you only have the time to ponder on mistakes youve made and regrets you have and it builds up..... However this song is about the realization that there is a bigger picture and that there WILL be someone to help you through it all. And the light will shine through your darkness. It all probably deals with the movie, where the one guy is stranded by himself in space.

why is everyone using lyrics to use with the band? why would he talk about his band in general when writing a song, its useless, they wont just say that to be talking about breaking up.

I don't know about you guys but I was taken by surprise with the pitch drop at "god's coming around".
I think it was a bit of a joke too, because they're trying to tell their audience through their music is for real now, it's not going to be like the last two albums.
No offense intended in the last statement. AVA brought their music to the next level with this album.
