I think it is about someone who had been broken up with and it was unexpected and heartbreaking. Now the person is trying to come back but they have a lot to prove before they can be trusted again.
I think in the line "Where you gonna go now that you're awake" means that the person that broke up with them has realized what they've done but their love is telling them that their actions need to support what they say.
