Fear Itself Lyrics

The minimum warm
We're the only survivors
Got nothing but the sea, sea around me

We're breathing in smoke
The servants have spoken
Wonder how they could breathe, breathe without me

Don't go
Don't go
Don't go without me
Don't go
Don't go
Don't go without me

We would
We would
We would just fade away

Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?

Through unelegant eyes
The successionist spoke here
Happy to cut the trees, trees completely

Cut the Cadillac chord
They've got the city surrounded
Oh the ends just suit the means, means eventually

Don't go
Don't go
Don't go without me
Don't go
Don't go
Don't go without me

We would
We would
We would just fade away
We would
We would
We would just fade away

Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?
Can't you feel the fear itself?

(Can't you?)
Can't you feel the fear itself?

We would
We would
We would just fade away
Fade away

This is an absolutely gorgeous song about the fate that awaits us if we don't take dramatic action to avert anthropogenic climate change. I particularly like the title, which is a reference to FDR's famous phrase, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

Initially had no idea what the hell they were talking about, but after reading toadtws' comments and re-reading the lyrics I agree. "Got nothing but the sea, sea around me" and "Happy to cut the trees, trees completely" Global warming at it's finest. Song sounds a lot happier than that though haha
