Chase the Tear Lyrics

Looking out
Looking in
Going where
Never been
Running round
Hiding in stairs

Unafraid
Felt the grain
Open doorways full of shame
My own life
I resented

Winter sigh
Summer's gone
Holding off tomorrow's sorrow

Brushing out
Brushing in
Losing out
Losing thee
Didn't take
My heart

Didn't fold
Chase the tear
Never let go
Now I'm there
It's over
It's over

Winter sigh
Summer's gone
Holding off tomorrow's sorrow

So I don't want anymore

This about a person who's life is trapped in a gravity-well of soul-crushing mediocrity.

They're only living life to "hold off tomorrow's sorrow." They always hold onto what's safe, "never let go," and before they know it, their life, "it's over, it's over."

It's my greatest fear.

i was surprised on how upbeat this was given the content on Third. Though the lyrics are just as dark as ever. Love the synth loop but I hope this direction is tossed
